Farmgent: Or pat the female interviewer on the bum( even though you'll spend years trying to get some of that ass once you've got the job!!) :)

@BoomerNavy70 good advice, we are all self employed these days. take what you can (but dont get caught selling it on the black market)

Get out of corporate America by the time you are 35. Pick their brains, learn what you can and move out on your own as soon as possible. Corporate America is a waste land of body counts that have fallen for that American dream bullshit that you will be fed by some Human Resources Director or company officer. Exploit them as much as they want to exploit you. After all, it's nothing personal, it's just business. Work hard, apply yourself, and watch them move your job to China or India.

I liked your tips but I would have combed my hair and she looked like she was leaning back on her chair she looked to laid back.

Do's and don'ts. Don't ask the receptionist for a date when you show up for an interview!

I wore my red shirt and my gold chain gave the guy a slap on the hand and told him about my life and what not no wonder I didn't get the job. Seriously though this is bullshit and if you train and script an interview you will come off as a nervous wreck. Just let it flow and be confident, confidence is the secret to everything. Knowledge of self, confidence, and flexibility will get you great things. The knowledge that you are capable gives you confidence. Flexibility just means adaptability.

@gabsylv There is cultural diffrences too. Many employees in America changing jobs like a night dress. In Japanese companies employees are like family members. They can work extra hours without complaining. Not in American companies. You can hear "What? extra hours? no way, I have my own life." Anyway, the bottom line is that American companies look for resumes and speaking skills rather than ability and applicant's personality. Good looking resume/good English skills do not produce BMW.

@gabsylv you said, influenced? I hope we are not talking about geo-politics. We are talking about business practices. I met many Japanese businessmen and they laugh at American interview practices(maybe not all of them, but many. Just compare European CV and American style resume. It makes diffrence since a job applicant has to use verbs in his resume like: Successful, achieve, developed, etc. When I German companies interviewed me, they did not ask me crazy questions about my weakness, $,

@pgthinker007 that is the brutest generalization I've heard ina long while. Japan is MUCH more influenced by American business practices than those of Europe. "Japan and Europe vs US" is only in your mind!
